A roof inspection in Abilene is the cheapest insurance a homeowner can buy, and ours are free. Most people find out their roof has a problem one of two ways: a stain spreads across the ceiling, or a roofer knocks on the door after a storm claiming there’s damage up there. Neither is a great position to be in. An inspection, done by someone who actually gets on the roof and documents what they find, puts you back in control.

When to get your roof inspected

The attic half of the inspection matters more than most people expect. Moisture stains on the underside of decking, daylight at penetrations, and matted insulation all show problems months before anything appears on a ceiling. An inspection that skips the attic is half an inspection.

You get photos of everything we find and a plain-English written summary: what’s fine, what’s worth watching, and what needs fixing now. If the roof is in good shape, we tell you that too. A free inspection only stays credible if “no problems” is a possible answer, and it often is.

What we’re actually looking for, slope by slope

Different problems live in different places, so the inspection follows a pattern. South- and west-facing slopes take the most sun and age fastest here, so that’s where granule loss and cracking show first. Ridgelines and roof edges catch the wind, so that’s where creased shingles hide. Valleys collect everything the roof sheds and fail at their metal or weave. Penetrations (chimneys, pipe boots, vents) are where most leaks actually start, regardless of how good the shingles are. Walking a roof with that map in mind is the difference between an inspection and a look around.

Storm damage and insurance claims

If we find storm damage, we document it the way insurance adjusters expect: dated photos, damage marked per slope, hail size and storm date referenced.
